Curriculum Overview

The curriculum overviews for each class for the Autumn term 2016 are on the respective Class pages.

They give a summary of the subjects taught this term and the broad learning outcomes.

Where possible, links are made between the subjects and the theme.

There are specialist teachers for PE, Music and French.

Global School

For the past few years we have had a link with 'Baptist School' in Sierra Leone. This has enabled staff to visit each others schools twice, pupils to exchange work, resources to be shared. We have included global dimension in our new curriculum plan. We shall focus on the themes of sustainable development, diversity and interdependence.

These themes will be studies at the local, regional and international levels. We have included communication with our partner school, and also, establishing a 'penpal' for the pupils in KS2.  We are actively trying to establish a link with a local, but culturally different school to deepen the pupil understanding of people and places.

We are applying for the global Schools award, in recognition of the emphasis we have given to this aspect of our curriculum.
