Mid-Day Supervisor working 2 days from 12-1.00pm


JOB TITLE                                                         MIDDAY SUPERVISORY ASSISTANT


RESPONSIBLE TO                                              Senior MSA


RESPONSIBLE FOR                                           Supervising pupils during the lunchtime break in all appropriate areas


JOB PURPOSE                                                    To work alongside all members of the staff team to secure a caring and                                                                           safe environment during the midday break


Gargrave Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all its pupils.  The successful candidate will be required to undertake a criminal record check via the DBS.




  • To supervise toilet arrangements and hand washing.
  • To escort the children to and from the dining areas as required.
  • To assist with the service of meal, including distribution of food, clearing spills, supervising eating of packed lunches.
  • To help with the setting up, clearing up and removal of food and equipment.
  • To ensure the safety of all children and the promotion of a calm / orderly atmosphere, where appropriate table manners and the independence of the children are encouraged.
  • To supervise the playground area, cloakrooms, classrooms etc, encouraging the playing of games and activities.
  • To reinforce good behaviour and the Code of Conduct.
  • To mediate at times of conflict in a calm and respectful manner.
  • Reporting inappropriate behaviour.
  • Dealing with minor first aid incidents, following appropriate procedures for recording and reporting.
  • To report any concerns about pupil welfare to the staff in a confidential and appropriate way.
  • To attend training sessions / meetings as necessary.
